Custom Control Panel Installation at Green Hub Recycling

We’re thrilled to share our recent project with Green Hub Recycling, where we designed and installed a custom electrical control panel for their new granulator. This project highlights our commitment to delivering innovative automation solutions tailored to our clients' needs.

Project Details

Green Hub had recently aquired a 75kW granulator which needed a panel to control the following;

• 75kW main motor
• 2.2kW hopper motor
• Door solenoid switch
• Dual-channel emergency stop circuit.

Solution 

For the safety aspect of the machine a Siemens 3SK2 progammable safety relay was used to control the STO (safe torque off) of the Yaskawa inverter, this ensured there was no possibility of the motor starting while the machine door was open, this combined with a standstill detection relay made sure the door also could not be opened while the motor was still running or coasting. The hopper control was also integrated into the safety circuit to ensure the previous conditions and also made sure the machine door was open before raising or lowering.

A Siemens Logo smart relay was used to control the logic and status indications on the front panel.

IO Automation wired the control panel to the granulator and comissioned the panel over a couple of days.
